How to keep your suitcase looking fresh

PrestiviumSuitcasesHome

Let's be honest. Your suitcase goes through a lot. Airport floors. Train stations. Car trunks. Hotel lobbies. It goes everywhere. So it makes sense to give it a little care once you're back home.

The good news? Keeping your suitcases clean and fresh isn't hard. You just need a few simple habits.

Here's how to make sure your suitcase keeps up with you, trip after trip.

Wipe it down after every trip

Your suitcase picks up more than just travel stories. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the exterior. This takes two minutes. Seriously.

You'd be surprised how much airport dust and dirt builds up. A quick clean keeps it looking sharp and preventes stains from setting in.

Notice black marks or scuffs? Those are common from airport belts or other luggage. In most cases, you can gently remove them with a damp cloth and light pressure.

Pro tip: Don't use aggressive cleaning products. They can damage finishes and materials.

Vacuum the inside (yes, really)

After every trip, open your suitcase and take a minute to vacuum the interior. Sand, dust, crumbs, tiny bits of who-knows-what. It all builds up faster than you think. Especially after beach trips or city breaks.

A quick vacuum:

  • Keeps the lining clean
  • Prevents odors
  • Makes your next packing moment feel fresh

Don't forget the wheels (they deserve it)

Wheels collect everything. Hair, dust, sand, random airport mystery debris.

Flip your suitcase over and:

  • Remove visable dirt
  • Wipe around the wheels
  • Check if they spin smoothly

Clean wheels = smoother movement next trip.

Let it air out

Before storing your suitcase, open it and let it breath. Even if everything inside was 'clean', luggage traps smells and moisture. Leaving it open for a few hours keeps the inside fresh and prevents that musty storage scent.

Store it the right way

Your suitcase is delivered with a transparant protective plastic cover and it's there for a reason.

If you're not using your suitcase:

  • Clean it first
  • Let it dry completely
  • Place it back in the protective cover

This keeps dust away and prevents scratches while in storage.

Final tip

Take care of your suitcase the same way you take care of your favorite jacket or sneakers. Clean it. Store it properly. Use it often.

And let it collect memories, not unnecessary wear.
